Warndon man wins our first-ever Good Neighbour Reward

KeywordsA CARING man who goes above and beyond his neighbourly duty on a daily basis has received our first-ever Good Neighbour Reward.

John Roberts, of Langdale Close, Warndon has been helping fellow residents by investing time and effort improving the area where he and his neighbours live. Pruning, digging and planting are just some of the jobs he has taken on as his own.

In the words of his neighbours Mr Roberts has changed the area from 'gloom to bloom'.  Speaking of his nomination Mr Roberts said: "I am really touched that my neighbours have nominated me." He added: “The gardens have been hard work but seeing how happy it has made the neighbours has made it all worth it.”

Customer Service Director Jean Dalziel said; "It's great that there are such good people in Worcester who invest a lot of time and effort looking after both their neighbours and also where they live. A big thank you to Mr Roberts for all his hard work - he is a very worthy winner."

The kind-hearted and dedicated Mr Roberts received £25 in High Street vouchers and a certificate for all his hard work. He will also be entered into the new annual competition to receive the WCH Good Neighbour Trophy and £100 in vouchers, which will be judged in September 2010.
